Movie Prop Fire: Rough Year For Hollywood In Albuquerque NM

Movie Prop Fire

There was a movie prop fire yesterday. On the heels of the ‘Rust’ Movie set incident, a Hollywood Prop Storage facility caught on fire Wednesday morning. AFR crews responded to a smoke investigation call north of downtown, south of I-40. Around 5:30 a.m., fire crews responded to the Haines and 6th Street area and discovered smoke and flames coming from a commercial warehouse at 1803 6th St. NW. Because of the building’s size and accessibility, crews had to fight the fire defensively for three hours after arriving. According to AFR, the warehouse housed movie props, resulting in a large fuel load and a longer firefight.

Crews kept an eye on the fire all afternoon to make sure it didn’t rekindle. According to reports, no one was in the building at the time. There were no reported injuries, and the cause of the fire is still unknown.
