We’ve seen a lot of westerns come through lately. There was even going to be another new western movie if not for the tragedy on the “Rust” set.

Last month, Jeymes Samuel’s film The Harder They Fall,a western movie, starring Jonathan Majors and Idris Elba, was released on Netflix to excellent reviews and awards hype. It was allegedly as popular with audiences as it was with critics.The Harder They Fall not only topped other Netflix movies in the first week of November, but it also dominated all other streaming services.

The Harder They Fall was the most-watched picture in that span by a considerable margin, according to Nielsen’s streaming numbers for the week of November 1st through November 7th.Over the course of that week, The Harder They Fall received approximately 1.2 billion streaming minutes.Army of Thieves, which was streamed for only 456 million minutes, was the second-highest film on the list. The popular western produced more than twice as much as its nearest competitor.

For the first week of November, Netflix featured multiple films in the top 10, including Love Hard, Replicas, American Gangster, and King Arthur: Legend of the Sword. Coco, Black Widow, and Luca made waves on Disney+, while Finch, a new Tom Hanks film, was a major hit on Apple TV+.
