It’s difficult to overestimate The Matrix’s impact upon its premiere in 1999.It rebuilt Hollywood’s science fiction and action genres, as well as introducing American audiences to many of Eastern cinema’s film making techniques.
However, this Matrix isn’t that one. It was far too long, with a poor narrative and confused sections, though I like the flashbacks. This unneeded reboot was slow, dreary, plodding, and utterly uninteresting, with the exception of a few nice special effects.
It took a while for me to fully comprehend what was going on. The beginning seemed strange, but if you enjoyed the original Matrix films, you’re in for a tremendous treat.
