Spider-Man: No Way Home $253 Million

Best 2nd Day Ever Movie Opening

Over the weekend, “Spider-Man: No Way Home” earned more than $250 million in North American ticket sales, shattering pandemic-era box office records and ranking third all-time behind “Avengers: Endgame” and “Avengers: Infinity War.”

According to studio estimates, the film grossed $253 million from 4,336 locations in the United States and Canada, drawing enthusiastic crowds to multiplexes despite rising concern about the omicron variant of the coronavirus.

“No Way Home” took in $334.2 million from more than 60 overseas markets, including Western Europe ($113 million), Latin America ($79.5 million), and Asia ($74 million), for a total of more than $587 million.

With $253 million, ‘Spider-Man: No Way Home’ becomes the third-best opening of all time. The latest Marvel blockbuster shattered pandemic-era box office records and conquered multiplexes worldwide. Non-franchise films, on the other hand, continue to struggle.

Since “Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker” in late 2019, no other film has earned more than $90 million in domestic opening-weekend ticket sales. (“Venom: Let There Be Carnage” made $90 million in its first three days of release in October.)
